Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines
March 15 - 17, 2024 | Camp Pendleton, CA
Warrior Reunion Foundation (WRF) had the honor of facilitating a reunion for the combat veterans of Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines. These Marines and sailors, who served in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, engaged in pivotal battles in Um Qasr, Basrah, and Nasiriyah. They also played a crucial role in Operation Vigilant Resolve, the first Battle of Fallujah, marking this April as the 20-year anniversary of that significant battle.
The reunion took place at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, where participants revisited Camp Horno, their former home and training ground. This visit underscored their journey from preparation to combat. A poignant moment of the reunion was a hike to the memorial crosses overlooking Camp Horno, honoring their fallen comrades. The event concluded with time spent on the beach, providing an opportunity for these veterans to strengthen the deep bonds forged in combat.
